Actual testing of microwave processing of your product is the best way to obtain qualitative and quantitative data to determine the feasibility and size a microwave installation. Cellencor offers two ways to do this.
Cellencor’s microwave test system is used for customer product processing trials and research. It is a heavily instrumented 75 kilowatt system with an emphasis on accurate measurement of process characteristics and energy efficiency. There is no charge for this service for prospective customers. The system is located at the Iowa Energy Center/Biomass Energy Conversion (BECON) facility in Nevada, Iowa (near Ames).
A 150 kilowatt transportable system is available for on-site testing at customer facilities. The system includes two 75 kilowatt generators and one 10’ drying oven with a flexible single or double belt conveyor. This system is available for rental by the week or month. The customer is responsible for cooling water and providing electric service. A rental diesel power unit can be used if 480 volt three phase electric service is not available.
